I've managed to stay "employed" for two weeks now. Impressive. Hehe.
It's been fun at work. That's really great. I had been out of work for about 4 months. Until I came round and realised I needed to work. After looking around for about a month, I got a job. Now I work for a spa consulting company. My bosses are two Directors (Australian and Israeli) and the Thai MD. My colleagues are nice and friendly. Thank goodness.
Nothing too exciting so far. Only lots and lots of stuff to learn. Soon enough it'll be more challenging. Yesterday was the busiest. My Aussie boss just got back from Mexico. He's Superman. He's so full of energy. Amazing. He got me a lot to do. So, my day went by super fast. It was fun. Being busy is always better than having nothing to do.
I still stopped by at the pubs to see my friends after work during the past two weeks. But guess that'll change from now on. I've been totally knackered from all that. I still live far away from work. That means I have to get up early to travel at least an hour to work and one more hour back home. And staying in town till late at the pubs didn't help. It just made me super tired when I got home.
Me, myself and the gang

So here comes my next mission. I'll try not to get sacked too fast. And I'll look for an apartment close to work. That'll cost me more than travelling back and forth. But it will save some grief from being stuck in the traffic for two hours on a daily basis. I think those extra bills will be worth it. The most difficult part in this is not finding a place, but convincing my parents I'll be fine.
It's just different here. Unlike the West that kids tend to move out once they've turned 18. Not here. Especially, if it's a girl. We're supposed to live in our big family until we get married. Then, move out to live with the husband. My old man is old-fashioned. This one will be tricky. I already told my Mum I would move out soon. She didn't like the idea much. But well, she knows me. So, she won't try to stop me.
I'm supposed to have an old friend flying in from Washington DC end of next week. But I haven't heard from him for a few days now. Don't know if we can meet up. It'd be nice to see him again. Yeah, he's a nice American. Wait until I ask who he voted for. I might have to take my words back. :D
