Last day of the festival.. but well.. I've just recovered.. I mean, trying to.
If you have never heard about Songkran, you can find some information here..
I worked only on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday was really slow at work. Everyone was looking forward to the big holiday.
Since the holiday was coming up, I managed to go out with a few friends on Tuesday evening. We were really pissed. I had to stay the night at a friend's place - as I would be pulled over in 5 minutes if I drove.
The next day (Wednesday) was for recovering. Bangkok was really quiet. Lots and lots of people left the city to celebrate Thai New Year elsewhere. Be it their hometowns, or just a holiday.
On Thursday, I was heading to Pattaya with Cameron. We were going to meet a few more friends there. One of our friends, David, owns The Blue Factory. So, we tend to go there every now and then to get pissed. Cool place. Great music. One certain musician to be mentioned is indeed Lam Morrison - Guitar King. Just every time I was there, I had to ask him to play Somewhere Over The Rainbow. That's my favourite. He simply took my breath away. No words to be sung. Only his guitar... and the band.
Songkran in Pattaya was quite fun. But I have to say that it used to be crazier. I spent a whole Songkran in Pattaya before. Probably 2 or 3 years ago. It was totally mad. Traffic was a real nightmare. This year... of course, I got all wet. But the whole thing wasn't as crazy. Traffic wasn't as bad. Odd. Maybe people went up North more this year.
Bad news, I didn't take my medications with me. So, after staying soaking wet in the heat yesterday, plus getting pissed at the Blues Factory last night, today I feel really bad. My head hurts. I feel like a cold is coming.
If everything went all right, it wouldn't be my life. So, of course, there was a misadventure (or two) during the whole thing. But that's not supposed to be published...
Happy Songkran, folks.
Stay wet!
