Oh my beloved weekend.. you have no idea how much I was looking forward to meeting you..
It's been a very odd week at work indeed. Everything seemed to go wrong. Very wrong. I didn't scream at anyone though. But the first time since I've got this job that I really did want to cry. And actually I nearly did. That was Thursday.
Bosses were nice and supportive. So I just tried my best to handle it all without shedding any tears.
In the evening, when I was still so down, I was getting ready for a date. My friend, Ian, was assuring me I was going to have a good time and I would feel better. I sat at work until 8PM trying to get some work done, but I was so down I couldn't focus on anything. Time to leave, so.. I left.
I headed to the pub to meet my date. We've known each other for years. But he's not based in Bangkok. So, I sometimes flew down there to see him. Or we just met up here whenever he came up to Bangkok.
We sat and chatted at the pub for an hour. With some friends coming to talk to. He called me "Ms. Popular". :D
Then, we were off to Vertigo for dinner. We argued most of the time in the cab as to which way to go to Banyan Tree. :D
I said right. He said left. I was 150% sure we had to turn right. But he believed it's left. The cabbie was on his side. And at the junction.... my date pointed at something on the left and went.. "Oh.. Look at that building. It has Banyan Tree's logo on it! See the green thing?"
Get stuffed, sweetheart. :D
On the way up to Vertigo (on 61st Fl.), we were cruising the lobby and everything. Very nice indeed. I'd reserved a table for us, under his name. The staff were really polite and pleasant. When we were shown to our table, we couldn't be happier. It's just perfect. It's on the top of the top. Right in a corner. Very romantic. And no one was blocking our view. Spectacular.
We had a great time. Enjoyed our evening so much. The food wasn't impressive. But I just loved the view.. the fresh air up there.. the sky (even though we couldn't see more than three stars).. It just made me feel like.. I was so very close to the sky..
Ian was right.
It was a very lovely evening. And it made me feel so much better...
