New ID... again

Well, since I lost my ID, I took today off work to go get my new ID done.

I thought I would have to go to the Amphur (district office) to make it easy. But dad's employee told me that I could as well go to a sub branch in a certain shopping centre - 20 minutes away. Hmm.. the Amphur and shopping centre....

So, I went to the shopping centre.

I got there around 10:30AM. Went to make a couple of photo copies. Came back to the sub branch and I got #10.

New ID now is a smart card. It has some chip in it.

The ID might be "smart", but the system/network definitely is not.

After the first few people got their IDs done, the system crashed.

The whole process should have taken 10 minutes max. But I left the shopping centre with a new ID around 1:00PM.

I have yet to look up and see what on earth this bloody "smart card" can do. They now scan your thumbs and index fingers too!!!

Anyway, my picture on the ID card looks nice though. :D

After the ID card, I went to my shit kid sister's school near the house. For some reason, no one in my family went there to get her name out of the system yet. And the kid has been in India for nearly 3 months now. So, I got that done today too. I couldn't be arsed to drive almost an hour to sort my driving license today anyway.

Interesting to see what sort of driving license I'll get. The old one that I lost was good for life. But the Department of Land Transport has got rid of that type years ago. Bollox really if I will have to go there every year to renew it.

Oh well....
