Just a quick update

I'm now at my parents' house.

I got back from Hua Hin on Sunday night. I was totally knackered. After work on Saturday, I came back to hotel after dinner (which AJ the boss paid for - ha ha ha), took a shower, got changed, and went for a foot massage. And I just came back to hotel and crashed. I slept like a baby.

Sunday was another long day, but not as bad as Saturday.

I worked over two weekends in a row now so I needed my "week" to end. I couldn't take Monday off because of work. So, now I'm taking Tuesday and Wednesday off. It's my weekend now.

I went out tonight though. I drove into town and had a few drinks. Met Sego. Met Andrew. Met another lunatic who annoyed the shit out of me by just turning up. Well, there was some history.

I need to sleep.......

Whinging

Ok, cut me some slack. It's been a very busy day. I'm not done with work yet. I have to get up at 5:30am. And the clock is ticking.

I was just chatting with Ian and this story popped up in my head.

I wish I could say I loved it when three people with different shite walking in the door in the same time when I was on the phone talking to other people.

Happened today again when my assistant was out finding bloody bathrobes for the bloody cruise ship.

Finally, got to talk to a spa therapist who wanted to get a job somewhere. A Chinese lady brought her in. And it turned out she couldn't fill in the application form (which was all in English for this purpose) because she couldn't write in English. The Chinese asked me if she could bring the form home and send documents in later. So, I talked to them both.

I asked the spa therapist (pretty politely - which was so out of character!) if she could really just communicate verbally and couldn't write in English at all. She said "Yes, I can speak English. I have a farang boyfriend."

Honestly...........................

I don't give a rat's arse whose partner comes from where.

I only care to know that - you can't write in English, but you want a job in 5-star hotel or overseas or what exactly you are looking for. So I can tell you what chances you have.

Everytime I applied for a job, I never felt the need to mention I had a foreign boyfriend.

That's something wrong with a lot of Thai women.

There are times and times I've heard Thai women bragging about having foreign boyfriend/husband. Other Thai women with a Thai partner would go uhh-ahh as if it was something of high class.

Breaking news; it is fucking not.

Anyway, I told her upfront that she didn't have a chance overseas at all. Even 5-star hotel in Bangkok would be difficult. And suggested she took English classes.

NOOOOOOOOo!!!!!!!!!

MY GOODNESS. THEY'VE CHANGED THE PLAN!!!

Instead of 7 am, now we are leaving Bangkok at 6:30 a bloody m!!!!

Oh God noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

I spoke to the Israeli boss today, and she suggested I stay up all night drinking so I don't have to get up.

This sounds too familiar.

Anyway, NO WAY! I'll be busy with work at the booth once I arrive in Hua Hin, until 8pm at the earliest. I need to sleep tonight.

Ahh.. me poor thing.

It was another hectic day in the office. I have absolutely no clue where all the time went.

Lots of emails, texts, and phone calls to/from people from all over the bloody planet. I will have no access to my email for two days, while AJ the boss has been off the internet for four days already. All the meetings for Monday had to be confirmed today. Not very easy when people you had to deal with were from different timezones. I had to be quick and very bloody good with making decisions.

2 Kudos to my assistant and 2.5 Kudos to myself.

Hua Hin

AJ the boss left for a huge function in Hua Hin earlier this week. It was holiday for the rest of us.

It never lasted too long for me.

We got an urgent request from him that we sent someone down there to help him with work this weekend.

My assistant can't make it due to other commitments.

And so there was....

... oh shit.

So, I'm going.

I was actually planning to go home to see my Dad this weekend. I only saw him two days so far this month. And I (strangely) miss him. I was really looking forward to going home.

I'm supposed to leave Bangkok with other people at another company this Saturday at 7AM.

7 BLOODY AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AJ knows I'm not a morning person. So, he says he will have the coffee ready upon my arrival.

He so owes me big this time. I ask him if I will get a nice meal out of this. He says "More than one!!!"

Good shit, boss. That's a deal then!

What a week

Unbelievable, really.

We had the Italian clients in town the past week. So needless to say, we all were extremely busy. Everything had to be perfect. Whatever they asked, we had to be able to reply. God, we were exhausted. But things have moved forward for this project. So, that's great news. It's been too long already.

Pang already left the country. Andrew has been back in town. One crazy old chap he is. He landed around 7.30pm on Thursday. Went home. Got changed. And came to see me in the pub. First we went to the Dubliner (for a change.. Not), but it was very quiet there so we went to the Bull's Head instead. Ahh.. there was some action there. So, we sat down and talked and drank.

I noticed one of my favourite DJs, ex Virgin Smooth 105, Paul Jackson was sitting nearby too.

Very nice to see him again. Andrew, I mean.

Well, we (as in Andrew, AJ the boss and myself) went to a wedding together the next evening. The bride used to work for one of the clients. It's a nice, little and intimate reception. On a boat.

Limited space made it difficult to take pictures.

After the reception, Andrew and I headed to the pub hoping to see Lee singing and jumping there. But Lee wasn't there!!!!

I forgot he would be away this week.

Duh!!!!

Lots of shite

Friday was a very long day.

We had a meeting to sort out some shite about work the lunatic had caused. After the meeting, she resigned. No problem. We saw it coming. And to be honest, not a great loss. She could do the work, but she was so rude people didn't want to deal with her, and she was so weird she couldn't get along with anyone in the office. And we're very friendly.

Anyway, instead of clearing all the work and handing it over to me, she started yapping on the phone. Apparently, she had to phone her family and friends telling them that she resigned. Well, if only she said she resigned....

But what happened was... she abused the shite out of everyone right there and then. She said we were horrible horrible people it was a nightmare working here. My blood boiled. And since no signs she would get off the phone, I walked up to AJ the boss and told him what was going on. Even my sweet little assistant got really pissed off and started voicing her opinions too.

And shit hit the fan.

The lunatic's friggin' crazy. I was so angry I was the first one who lost it. Therefore, AJ the boss banned me from going anywhere near her, because he thought I would have killed her. After I was banned, I went to sit in another section of the office where the Israeli boss was having a massage. So, I translated everything to her. She was very pissed off too.

Everything was so unbelievable. No one could believe the lunatic was being such a drama queen. There were two calm and a bit older ladies in the office. So, they went to help the lunatic sort her shite out so she could be done with it. The lunatic still wouldn't get off the phone. Apparently, she was afraid we would hurt her or something - since we were a bunch of scary horrible people.

To make a long story short, the lunatic ended up pissing the two ladies off as well, by being so rude and so fuckin' crazy. One of the ladies (who had been calm at first, and had tried so hard to remain calm) lost it now and basically told her to get the fuck out. That made the lunatic even crazier. She was scared for her dear life now that she would be attacked.

Well, if you snapped at an innocent lady who was always polite and calm, we wouldn't let you walk. Be decent, for Christ's sake.

So, after some screaming, yelling, the lunatic simply ran out of the office. AJ the boss said to everyone that he apologised for hiring this mentally ill person and letting her into our organisation, etc. I just said no one knew she would be this crazy.

A while later, the maid told me that she saw the lunatic downstairs with cops and security around.

It turned out, the lunatic was standing outside the building shaking with fear for her dear fuckin' life. The cops noticed her and thought she might be crazy so they asked the security to keep an eye on her.

The whole episode was too much. I hardly got my own work done all day because of it. After the lunatic was gone, I had to check her computer and petty cash so I could continue her work from there.

AJ the boss said to me he was thinking about changing office locks. So was I!!

And he went home early and told us he wouldn't speak to anyone for three days. I also left the office early and headed to the pub right away. I needed to drink.

So I met Rose and Sego in the pub. After a pint, I started to feel better. And if Sego was in the pub, there was Tequila.

Pretty good night out, actually.

I slept in the next day. And came home for the weekend.

A bit tired today.

Then, Pang rang.

So, I ended up taking Pang to the pub for dinner. We met Rose and Kikie there. Once full, we made our way to Hard Rock Cafe since there was live music there (I already checked with my friend the barman), and there was bugger all entertainment in the pub.

My favourite band is still playing in HRC. Had a great night out again.

Now, I am going to sleep........... :-)

Almost weekend

I went out with Pang and Neung and Dosey the other night. We just went to the pub for dinner. Pang couldn't stay late because she had to get up the next day and take her mother to the hospital - for test results (which are good, by the way). I'm going to meet up with her again soon enough. We have a lot to catch up!! Weekend is probably best for me since it's usually an all-night episode. Last time I stayed up chatting with her, I ended up driving home at 7AM.

Big evening with Pang and other mates in the same circle early next week. That'll be a lot of fun.

Andrew will be back on the 17th. So, should be fun trying to organise another meet!

Then, there is a wedding on the 18th I am going to. The bride used to be a Spa Manager for one of our clients. I am forcing AJ the boss to go with me. Well, since we are having an affair (according to the rumour started by the lunatic), we should bloody well go together. Hahaha.

I may try to get Andrew to go with me too.

Now that's bizarre love triangle.

Lurvvvvvvvely!!

Yippee!!

One of the bestest best friends of mine (Pang) is now in Bangkok!

We've known each other for a very long time. Perhaps 12 years or so. She lives in Canada though. So, we haven't got to see each other much. But when she is back in town, we always catch up. When we sit down and start talking, you can expect that episode to last all night. I would pass out around 5AM at the earliest. A very nice girl she is. Damn, I've missed her!!

She's only staying for two weeks this time. So, I'll ring up some people and plan to meet up for dinner or something. This's awesome. :-)

Well, actually, the very first time I met Andrew, she was in the bar with me too. But they never met again after that night. Hehehe. It's a shame Andrew is now still in England on holiday from holiday. And he will be back just the day before Pang is flying out. So, ..... let's see if we can plan something here.

Yawwwnnn

A bit tired this weekend.

The weird girl in my office has been driving me nuts. She has pissed some people off so badly that they turn to me asking for help. God, I'm so tired of this shit. Work has always been great. It's just the atmosphere since the weird girl has joined in. I already spoke to boss. And he asked me to bear with him for the time being. The organisation (not really the company I've been working for) still needs her and he'll try to get her under control.

So I went out on Friday night. I really needed to drink. Mark had a few meetings all day and would finish late. I got a lot of stuff to do also since AJ the boss would be out of the country again. So, that was me going down the pub late. And Mark came (all the way from riverside to Sukhumvit) to see me for a bit. Even though he had asked me in the evening on the phone that "But you won't be legless when I see you, will you?", I was a bit tipsy when he finally turned up.

It was very difficult not to get pissed when the mad French girl was in the house. Bloody mad girl she is!!

Having drunken on an empty stomach (again), the result wasn't pretty. I was pretty tired the next day. Thank Lord it's Saturday.

My head hurt. And he was knackered from all the meetings the past 7 days. So we stayed in and took it easy. That was nice though.

So, now he is at the airport getting ready to fly out. And he will be back in a month. I suppose flying up North of Thailand to see him is easier than flying to another Asian country. Good to at least live in the same country.

See ya!!

I went out last night. My friend, Aime, was going back to Canada for at least a year. So, we did some drinking.

Not too long after the live music had started, Rose and I noticed a shitfaced man next to Rose. It turned out he was Irish. From Donegal. He was absolutely shitfaced. And loud. And not very polite. And very annoying. Everytime he yelled, his saliva flew all over the bloody place. I was joking with Rose that her back was soaking wet from it!

Anyway, we tried to stay away from him. Everyone around him knew he was totally pissed. He started becoming a little aggressive at some point. And everyone ignored.

Some time into the night, Lee played a song and Rose helped him with the tick-tock thing, while I was on the ching-ching thing. The drunk Irishman started harrassing Rose (just more obvious now). Rose was getting pissed off, so I told her to keep playing, and ignored him.

When we got back to our table, the guy was being a lot more aggressive, and abusive. Rose told him to fuck off and he was not very happy with that.

Sego the French was chatting with us and we were having a laugh. The guy wouldn't stop harrassing Rose. Sego turned to him and asked "Are you Irish?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Anyway, he wouldn't stop. And things just got worse and worse. I couldn't leave Rose to get help. Thank God another Thai lady noticed the event, and told us she would go to get the manager.

The manager turned up within a minute, talked to the guy. The guy grabbed his pint. Another guy (a customer) turned up from behind and took his pint away. And the Irish got thrown off.

The Thai lady said that the Irish was being abusive and rude towards her prior. So, we all wanted him out.

The atmosphere improved afterwards.

At least, no spit flying around the bloody place.

Tada

After a rather quiet weekend at my parents' house, I'm now back in town.

I didn't check my emails on Sunday, so I found an email from Mark on Monday morning.

He's back in Bangkok!!!

So, we met up after work in a pub. He was already there when I turned up. He was in a suit and a tie. He looked great. I dressed nicely too so he didn't feel funny.

Bloody bad boy has started smoking again. And I've quit just a bit over two weeks. So, I had to drink so I didn't get the urge to smoke.

That's a damn good excuse. Hehe.

I just realised last night that he had never seen me drinking pints before. He was really surprised.

After my pint, we headed to a Mexican restaurant nearby for dinner. Good Lord, I never knew there were so many kinds of margaritas!! That's interesting.

So, he smokes, but doesn't drink. I drink, but don't smoke.

Many waiters/waitresses got confused when they took orders from us. :D

Anyway, we had a nice time. We talked and laughed. We work in similar industries. I used to work for a resort which was under the same consulting company as Mark's resort. Because of that, one of my friends used to work for Mark. So, we had a nice chat about good old days.

Good news is that he has got a confirmed date that he will move back to Thailand in September - although he will live in the North. At least, we will be in the same country again.
